On the fourteenth day of the dark fortnight of Vaishakh, Queen Shridevi beheld the fourteen great dreams that herald a Tirthankara. Into the noble household of King Surya descended a soul of supreme destiny — heralded by celestial blessings, illumined by divine light, welcomed by gods and mortals alike.
Within the marble courts of Hastinapur, young Kunthunath was tutored in the sixty-four sacred arts and the eighteen disciplines of statecraft. His luminous form embodied the perfect grace of the Twelfth Kamadeva — yet behind every royal duty shone a soul already gazing upon eternity.
Crowned as the Sixth Chakravartin, Bhagwan Kunthunath wielded sovereignty across the six continents and the fourteen sacred jewels of empire. His reign was an age of dharma — where prosperity flowed unobstructed and the wheel of righteous rule (chakra) turned without resistance.
Beholding the inevitability of decay even within the most splendid empire, Bhagwan Kunthunath perceived the truth that no crown can shield the soul from the silent tide of impermanence. The flame of vairagya, long kindled in his heart, blazed forth as resolve to forsake the transient for the timeless.
In the prime of his sovereignty, Bhagwan Kunthunath performed Diksha, casting aside crown, scepter and royal raiment. With five fistfuls of hair plucked in solemn vow, the Universal Monarch became the Universal Mendicant — a soul at last unburdened by the ornaments of empire.
Through unbroken meditation and severe austerity, Bhagwan Kunthunath dissolved the four destructive karmas. From this purified silence arose Kevala Jnana — omniscient awareness perceiving all substances and modes across all times. The soul stood revealed as it eternally is: pure, infinite, free.
From the divine Samavasarana — the celestial assembly hall raised by gods — Bhagwan Kunthunath expounded the eternal Jain Dharma. He established the fourfold sacred order of monks, nuns, laymen and laywomen, illuminating the path of right vision, right knowledge and right conduct for every aspirant of liberation.
Having shed every karmic bond and completed his sacred mission, Bhagwan Kunthunath ascended to Siddhashila — the abode at the apex of the universe where liberated souls reside in perfect knowledge, perfect bliss and perfect peace. There he abides eternally as a Siddha — the perfected ideal.
